Our Phlebotomy Technician program trains students to collect, process, and transport specimens, label samples accurately, identify errors, and perform clinical procedures under a Physician or Nurse. Phlebotomy Technicians typically work with lab personnel and healthcare providers in hospitals, clinics, and offices.
This 70-hour program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to work as a Phlebotomy Technician in conjunction with clinical laboratory personnel across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private physician offices.
Through classroom instruction and skills lab training (students do not need to leave the school and attend any other location for the lab portion of the course), students will master the procedures necessary to collect, process, and transport laboratory specimens, including:
The course concludes with a lab practicum. Upon successful completion, students are prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) National Certification Exam. Certification is not required for employment nor required for graduation; however it is highly recommended.
